Boys will be Boys by Shailey Tripp

Boys will be Boys is a candid and extremely personal look inside the torrid world of politics and corruption from the eyes of the author. This must read book had me going from beginning to end. The things that are being recounted in this book is appalling yet very eye opening, especially from the point of view of the struggling single mother. Be ready to experience a full range of emotions upon reading this book. I pride myself of learning every side to every story and if you are a reader and follower of this particular tale then I urge you to read on.

Radio Silence

Hello everyone!! I'm baaaccckkkk!!! Seriously, I'm so very sorry about my recent radio silence on the blogosphere :( As you all know, life happens and such. I've been taking care of my younger sister since she just had her gallbladder removed. I've haven't been reading as much as I should guys. Go ahead, smack my wrists, I deserve it :/ I did manage to read one book by one of my favorite authors, Erica Spindler! Her latest suspense mystery nail biting novel Watch Me Die was, quite literally, to die for!! I didn't know which way was up or down, or who to suspect, who not to suspect, whether people were just going plain crazy or what!! If you're looking for an on-the-edge of your seat thriller, I DEFINITELY recommend this novel.

Now that things seem to finally be settling down over here in my little corner of the world, I'll be blogging way more! My friend Honey Boudreaux , I'm proud to say is finishing up her second novel and my very own aforementioned sister is working on an incredible novel as well. I read the first 6 chapters and while it is a bit rough around the edges but she's definitely got something! I will keep you all posted on her progress! And again, I have no more radio silence planned in the near future lol :) and Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

Book Review: View from a Rusty Train Car by DeeJay Arens

DeeJay Arens, in my opinion, really hits this one out of the park for me. View from a Rusty Train Car is a tumultuous tale, a tragic yet powerful hybrid love story that makes you feel every emotion rolled into one.

Jared and Luke are best friends and they are also in love. But unfortunately, their love isn't easy and most can't or won't understand. This novel plunges into the tangled world of a forbidden love and confused feelings that have been influenced by closed minded family and peers. Jared is convinced that their love can work and survive anything anybody has to throw at it. Luke tries but has a constant string of underlying influences that convinces him otherwise. Both are fighting for their love but can it really survive the actions of the other?

From the very first chapter to the end, DeeJay Arens has you on a wonderfully amazing emotional roller coaster ride. This book has a powerful message behind it. To me, this isn't just a novel but a life lesson about the choices we make and the people it may affect. In my opinion, this book is a must read and I highly recommend it to anyone who may be struggling with a similar situation or may know someone who is. I give The View From a Rusty Train Car two enthusiastic thumbs up!!

More WAMM Discoveries

Today I had the pleasure of reading the first 2 chapters of BOOTS: An Unvarnished Memoir of Vietnam by Stephen L. Park. Mr. Park's story seems to be a fascinating recollection of a turbulent time in history. I can't wait to download it to my Kindle tomorrow!!

I am also looking forward to Mike Frizz's collection of short stories. Holy cannoli that guy is hilarious! I follow him on Twitter @TheMikeFrizz. He hasn't really put out a teaser that I've seen yet, but I could've missed it.

I have also discovered (thanks to Honey and WAMM) Ms. June "Bug" Kramin :) I heard through Twitterverse that her books can be downloaded for the Nook and that got me really excited. So I ventured over to the Barnes and Noble site and read the teasers. Let's just say I have a busy next few days lol!!!

Writer's Amuse Me Author-DeeJay Arens

So far I've only ready Honey Boudreaux's novel which was amazing, but there are so many other promising authors in the WAMM publishing house! I was fortunate enough to read a teaser from DeeJay Arens up coming novel The View from a Rusty Train Car  and let me tell you I absolutely cannot wait until it comes out!! From what I've read in the teaser, this is a coming of age story of two boys who fall in love with each other and the obstacles they must overcome to beat the odds.

Follow this link to check out his book teaser: https://deejayarens.wordpress.com/2012/06/18/book-teaser/

Book Review: Fool Me Once by Honey Boudreaux

Dark, captivating, and keeps you on the edge of your seat, Honey Boudreaux DEFINITELY delivers with her debut novel.

As a kid it sucks to be different, but to be this kind of different is a whole other story. Shelby and Tristan are just that...different. This novel delves into the dream world of Shelby and Tristan at heart pounding pace! Following Shelby and Tristan into their world of dreams, which collide with reality, they fight for survival from a seemingly invisible enemy. They are willing to put everything on the line to protect the ones they love from a fate of epic proportions. After everything they both learn from their dreams, Shelby and Tristan think they can beat this shadowy enemy. Unfortunately, their dreams can be deceiving. If you are looking for a book you can't put down while you're awake and dream about when you're asleep, then this is the book for you. What I especially loved about this novel is that the chapter titles are also song titles. It's like an unofficial book soundtrack! Totally awesome if you are like me and like to listen to music while you read. Fool Me Once gets two thumbs up from me!!
